SEQ Bird Club members keep a wide range of aviary-bred native and exotic birds including finches and softbills, pheasant, waterfowl, quail, canaries, and all parrots such as budgerigars, lorikeets, cockatoos and more!
Our club membership includes:
A5-size colour magazine, six issues per year.
Free Members Classifieds in our magazine to advertise birds for sale, wanted, or to exchange.
Three public bird sales every year where all legally-kept, aviary-bred species can be bought direct from the breeders.
Guest speakers at our monthly meetings often with live birds, product demonstrations, and audio-visual presentations.
Members Only CASH DRAW at our monthly meetings. Starts at $50 and jackpots $20 each meeting if the winning member is not in attendance. Financial members only.
Raffle prizes at every meeting, and at all three bird sales.
Huge library of books about birds and bird-keeping available for loan to members.
Christmas celebration for members and partners (and guests invited by the club) in December (starts 11am. $15 pp).
QCBS affiliation, we are affiliated with the Queensland Council of Bird Societies, the peak body representing avicultural associations in Queensland.
Our monthly meetings are informal and friendly with discussion on club activities and current news about subjects affecting bird-keeping. Our meeting venue is modern, spacious and air-conditioned with toilet facilities, disabled access, and free parking onsite and on-street. Meetings are conducted in accordance with any current COVID-19 health advice.
SEQ Bird Club is an 'incorporated association' registered in Queensland. Formerly Beenleigh Bird Breeders Association (name changed September 2024).
General meetings are on the first Wednesday of each month (except January), commencing at 7pm. Please observe COVID-19 health directions.
